The Chicana/x Y Latina/x Mentoring Network (CHYLA Mentoring Network) is a community-building group made up of staff, administrators, and student employees, from California State University, Sacramento (the “University”) and its auxiliaries (University Enterprises, Inc., Capital Public Radio, Union WELL, and Associated Students, Inc.). The CHYLA Mentoring Network was created to develop a space for Chicanas/x and Latinas/x throughout the University and its auxiliaries to build community; support each other’s professional and personal goals; build their network; create mentorships, and to amplify the call to address underrepresented Chicanas/x and Latinas/x in leadershipJoin Our Email List - Complete our Interest Form Today!

Our Mission
The Chicana/x y Latina/x (CHYLA) Mentoring Network’s mission is to foster mentoring, community building, and provide a supportive space for Chicanas/x and Latinas/x on campus. The CHYLA Mentoring Network serves as a resource to prepare Chicana/x and Latina/x staff, administrators, and student employees at the University and its auxiliaries for career growth and leadership opportunities. CHYLA offers access to culturally relevant mentors, networks, and professional resources to address the need for increased representation of Chicana/x and Latina/x individuals in University Leadership.
Our Goals
- Career Development: Provide career development and advancement resources for CHYLA members.
- Safe Space: Create an open-minded and safe space for Chicana/x and Latina/x individuals to use as a think-tank and sounding
- Community Building: Nurture a community of inclusivity, belonging, goodwill, community service and
- Leadership Representation: Amplify the call to address underrepresentation of Chicana/x and Latina/x individuals in university
- Mentorship Network: Establish a mentorship network for Chicana/x and Latina/x professionals.
- Annual Conference: Host an annual conference focusing on career and community development, mentorship and the Chicana/x and Latina/x professional experience.
