About Sacramento State Art Collection
Sacramento State Art Collection
The Sacramento State Art Collection is part of the University's extraordinary collection of valuable objects of art and visual culture. The collection holds over six hundred works of art in various media, primarily objects made by Art Department faculty, students, and other notable regional artists from the 1960s to the 1980s.
This online gallery consists of seventy works from the collection; all of them have been photographed and researched by Art History students. The Art Department and University Galleries are proud to present their work as a showcase and an art historical resource for students, faculty, and the general public.
Public Art
Sacramento State hosts more than 30 public artworks on our campus including murals and sculptures. Former University Galleries student-intern Genesis Torres in conjunction with students from Professor Mya Dosch's Public Art course collaborated on a new Google map marking locations of the artworks across our campus. We are excited to launch this new map, featuring 13 artworks with more locations to be added. We invite you to campus to explore and discover our public art. Click here for the Public Art Google Map
