About Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI)
Hispanic Serving Institution
Sacramento State is committed to using research and best practices to increase awareness and ability to intentionally serve Latine students. We reached a 25% undergraduate Latine student enrollment in 2013 and were recognized as an HSI in 2015.
A HSI is a federal designation of a public or private college or university that has an enrollment of Pell-elegible and under-resourced undergraduate full-time equivalent students that is at least 25% Latine students.
We are proud recipients of the Seal of Excelencia, which recognizes institutions that intentionally serve Latine students.
Sac State’s Serna Center supports our Latine students, staff, and faculty to enrich cultural identity and develop a sense of familia within the campus.
