About Central Office for the Advancement of Black Student Success
About the Central Office
The new CSU Statewide Central Office for the Advancement of Black Student Success serves all 23 campuses of the California State University system. Focused on addressing the barriers to Black student success identified in the 2023 CSU Black Student Success Report, this center aims to foster an inclusive, supportive environment for Black students, faculty, and staff. Key initiatives include creating safe spaces on campuses, developing culturally relevant curricula, and enhancing recruitment and retention efforts for Black faculty and students. The office will also oversee the implementation of SB 1348, enabling campuses to be designated as Black Serving Institutions.
