About Artificial Intelligence
AI Technology Tools at Sac State
Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly advances in Generative AI, is transforming our world and how we engage within it. In partnership with the National Institute on Artificial Intelligence in Society (academic focus) and IRT (tools and security), Sacramento State - and the entire CSU system - is providing support, analysis, and guidance about the impacts and opportunities AI has on teaching, learning, and ultimately society.

Privacy & Data Security
University-supported AI tools linked to your campus account such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT are configured to protect the privacy and confidentiality of organizational data, and do not use prompts or responses to train their Large Language Models (LLM).
But not all AI apps do this - and it's every Hornet's responsibility to protect privacy, security, and confidentiality of university data consumed by AI platforms by never putting sensitive data into other non-supported generative AI apps.
