Tutoring


The Department of Economics provides free tutoring for the following courses:

  • ECON 1A: Introduction to Macroeconomic Analysis
  • ECON 1B: Introduction to Microeconomic Analysis

Tutoring is available in Tahoe 3025. The tutors are juniors and seniors majoring in Economics, as well as graduate students in the M.A. program.

Department Tutoring Schedule

 

Students seeking out tutoring/study groups for other Economics courses should join the Student Economic Association. This student-run group is an excellent resource for undergraduates in Economics courses.

Undergraduate economics majors interested in serving as tutors, should contact the Department Vice-Chairperson. Typically, students must have completed ECON 100A and ECON 100B with a B or better to serve as an Economics tutor. With permission, students may register for ECON 198: Tutoring in Economics for a maximum of 3 units (counted as an upper division elective toward the major). ECON 198 is a Credit/No Credit course. Please be sure to check with a major advisor to make sure that you are eligible to count ECON 198 toward your degree.

Graduate students interested in serving as serving as tutors, should contact the Department Vice-Chairperson. the same qualifications apply to both undergraduates and graduate students ("B" or better in ECON 100A and ECON 100B). With permission, graduate students may register for ECON 298: Tutoring in Economics for a maximum of 3 units (counted as elective toward the M.A. degree). ECON 298 is a Credit/No Credit course. Please be sure to check with the graduate coordinator to make sure that you are eligible to count ECON 298 toward your degree.
