Sac State provides tools to equip new staff with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to effectively thrive in your role.
Your First Year
Understand Your Role - Familiarize yourself with your job description, responsibilities, and expectations
Engage in Orientation Programs - Participate in any orientation or onboarding sessions offered. These programs are designed to help you understand the university's culture, policies, and procedures.
Build Relationships - Connect with colleagues, both within your department and across the university. Building a network can provide support and open up collaborative opportunities.
Professional Development and Required Training - Take advantage of professional development opportunities, such as workshops, seminars, and training sessions, to enhance your skills and knowledge. Complete required training that shares foundation expectations of employees at Sac State.
- Compliance Training is assigned through CSU Learn near the end of your first week. Some courses are due periodically, some are due once.
