Instructional Design & Pedagogy Consultation Services

Meet our Instructional Designers

instructional-designers.jpegOur Instructional Designers support faculty in the development of personal pedagogies to deliver dynamic and engaging learning experiences for students. Whether you are developing new courses, or seeking enhancements to existing courses, Instructional Designers are available to assist you. Get to know our team below, and find the best fit for you! About Crystal:

As a lifelong learner and advocate for quality online education, Crystal enjoys working with and supporting faculty in their course redesign journey, learning and integrating technology, and implementing best-practices for learning with technology. She has been working in higher education for 10 years, and transitioned to instructional design just 5 months before COVID drastically changed teaching and learning. Crystal also holds an M.S. in Instructional Design and Technology from Cal State Fullerton and completed her Ed.D. at Sacramento State. Crystal also teaches Universal Design for eLearning Masters program at Sacramento State.

Areas of Specialty:

Crystal's areas of interest include accessibility, multiple-modality and compressed pedagogical strategies, tech tools, engagement, and more.

About Kelsey:

As an instructional designer at Sacramento State, Kelsey aims to help faculty create engaging classroom experiences and environments that challenge students to think deeply about the content and apply their learning in new and interactive ways. She believes quality education online or in-person maintains a high level of rigor so that students can feel that they can reach new levels of critical understanding and feel supported by faculty along the way. Kelsey’s background is in secondary mathematics education, as she was a middle/high school teacher for 10 years. She is also a lecturer in the College of Education in the Single Subject Teaching program, helping to prepare the next generation of secondary teachers.

Areas of Specialty:

Kelsey's areas of specialty include STEM, accessibility, engaging teaching pedagogies, integrating technology, and redesigning courses for QM certification standards.

We offer small group hands-on workshops and discussions in a friendly environment where you can get your questions answered and try out new ideas and tools. If you or your department would like to request a consultation or small group discussion, please contact us.
