Master of Fine Arts: Studio Art Candidate Exhibition 2024
April 30 - May 18, 2024
Sloane Cabrera, Ngan Nguyen, and Kathy Page each operate within highly personalized systems to explore tensions between opposing forces — order and chaos, the dream world and reality, pattern and chance — in their work. Using vastly different mediums and methods — from painting to installation to printmaking and collage — each artist explodes the form while staying contained within the specific parameters they set for themselves. Through this process, they bring inner worlds to life and attempt to grasp the ephemeral in a tangible way. Each of the artists’ work could be seen as episodic, moving from one vignette to another, carefully crafting worlds of wonder, delight, chance, and dreams.
