Irish Heritage School Trip
Description – Visit Birr, Ireland with Dr. Simpson and Dr. Gregory to engage with the community, work on service learning projects and learn about Irish history and culture. You will visit the beautiful Birr Castle, stay with a host family and visit monastic sites from the 5th and 9th centuries. Explore service learning and participate in this opportunity to study abroad!
- When – During Sac State’s Spring Break
- Expenses – Trip costs include all expenses except airfare, Spring 2024 cost: $1700+ airfare
- Airfare – Will be coordinated at the beginning of the class
- Purpose – To engage in service learning as an alternative form for the Honors 103 class
Spring 2023 Itinerary –
- Sunday: Arrival by 10 am then are guided through Dublin, meet your host families
- Monday: Field Trip to monastic sites, guest speaker
- Tuesday: Work from 9-5
- Wednesday: Work from 9-5, Birr Castle at 6
- Thursday: Work from 9-5
- Friday: Work 9-5, traditional music at the pub
- Saturday: Leave for airport by 8 am
