The Career Center’s career resources in Handshake will help you on your path to success in today’s competitive job market. Link your academic preparation to a great career by completing the Roadmap to Career Readiness activities. The Roadmap to Career Readiness includes strategies for self-exploration, researching your career passion, engaging in internships and experiential learning, gaining valuable experience and pursuing your career goals. Login to Handshake with your Saclink credentials and choose “Career Center” and “Resources” to explore other resources.
Step 1: Explore Who You Are

- Research majors and careers
- Visit the Career Center: Meet with a Career Counselor to start self-exploration & career-exploration
- Identify Career Skills
- Log in to Handshake and update your profile and attend career exploration events
- Consider a part-time job to build skills
- Participate in a First-Year Seminar
