Causeway Classic

The Causeway Classic is the annual college football game between Sacramento State Hornets and The UC Davis Aggies. The game will take place on November 23, 2024! Come out and support the Hornet!

Stress Less Week
December 2-6, 2024
Sac State’s Stress Less Week encourages students to take a mental health and wellness break to have fun, learn about stress management tools, and gain knowledge about campus wellness resources. This week includes events, activities, and workshops to help students de-stress before finals week and the end of the semester. CultureFest

Sacramento State is home to thousands of individuals from diverse countries, backgrounds, and cultures. Join the MCC for CultureFest from 1–3 p.m. in the University Union Ballroom, an annual celebration showcasing the richness of our multicultural campus community. The event invites students, faculty, staff, and the broader community to explore, appreciate, and engage with the rich tapestry of cultures that make up Sacramento State. Experience a day of unity, understanding, and celebration through vibrant performances, a fashion show, and a kaleidoscope of immersive activities.

Join us for an evening filled with excitement as we transform our Housing Quad into a carnival wonderland. Join ASI and KSSU on April 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., for a night of FREE climbing at the Peak Adventures Challenge Course, located behind Yosemite Hall. Music, games, and food are also included. There is no need to register, this event is FREE and open to all!

Explore our sustainability fair, featuring a vibrant mix of community members and vendors showcasing eco-friendly products, services, and innovations that make sustainable living more accessible. Enjoy delicious bites from the event’s food trucks and engage in fun, educational games designed to raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire action on our campus. Visit our green careers fair to explore job opportunities and career paths that contribute to a sustainable future. And don’t forget to bring your old electronics for our e-waste recycling collection, helping to reduce waste and keep harmful materials out of landfills.

Denim Day/Take Back the Night
April 30, 2025
As an act of solidarity, we wear and display denim jeans to end victim blaming and better understand that clothing does not equal consent. Stop by to participate in a rich discussion on supporting survivors and educating yourself about sexual violence. Take Back the Night is a march that takes power back for survivors. It is also a protest that demands safety while promoting the end of gendered violence and focuses on marginalized groups while empowering survivors to share their stories through an open mic forum (optional).

Stress Less Week
May 5-9, 2025
Stress Less Week brings friendly dogs to campus to interact with students during midterms and finals week. “Stress Less Puppies” are scheduled to roam the Library Quad. Workshops feature peer-led discussions on topics such as managing stress. Free Jamba Juice smoothies and testing materials will be provided.

Hornet Nest Fest
Currently enrolled students are invited to attend the annual Hornet Nest Fest on August 23, 2024, in the Main Quad. Tickets are required for food, so be sure to RSVP by clicking the Hornet Nest Fest Tickets that will be accessible in all current students' Student Centers starting in June.
Hornet Day at the Lake
Students, staff, and faculty are invited to join us for “Hornet Day at the Lake,” on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center. Bring your Sac State One Card, sunscreen, and a towel, and enjoy time on the water. Enjoy free rentals of kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, a challenge course, volleyball, food trucks, and more.
Swarm Day
Right in the middle of the two weeks of Club Days tabling is our annual Swarm Day! Join us in the Library Quad on Friday, August 30, 2024 for your chance to connect with student organization members, watch performances, and learn more about campus life. The event will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. but be sure to be there around 11:45 a.m., when we take the annual campus photo with Herky and President Wood!
Phlagleblast
This campus tradition showcases all of the great vendors, office and services the Union has to offer. Visit the Union between 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for an event filled with fun activities. Various components make up the event, including the Phlagleblast game card, where participants stop by each department or office within the Union. This acquaints them to the services and resources and they collect prizes as they do so. Students then submit their completed cards for a free t-shirt and a chance to win a larger prize: JBL headphones, 32” TV, North Face backpack, small kitchen appliances, camping tent, Polaroid camera and more. We’ll have live music throughout the event. The day will also feature a balloon artist, face painter, caricature artists and free food samples. The event is free and open to students, faculty and staff.
WeUSI Music Festival
Join us for Sac State’s UNIQUE Programs' 3rd annual WEUSI music festival on Friday, Sep 13 from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Serna Plaza. Admission is free for both students and the public. Experience unity within the Sac State community through music, food trucks, a Stinger Expo with student vendors, games, and more. WeUSI Website
Football 1st Home Game
Come on out and cheer on our Sacramento State Football team as we welcome Nicholls State University to Hornet Stadium for its first home game of the year. The game starts at 6 p.m.! Be among the first 1,000 students to receive a free t-shirt—just claim your tickets before the game. STINGERS UP!
The WELLcome Back
Join us on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The WELL for our annual WELLcome Back event! With 12 stations brimming with activities, information, and free swag, it's an event not to be missed. Grab your event stamp card upon arrival and collect at least 7 stamps to snag an event t-shirt. Plus, collecting additional stamps earns you an entry into the grand prize drawing, which will include a Keurig Mini, Beats Studio Buds, JBL Clip 5 apeakers, inflatable kayak and more! Explore various WELL programs and services such as intramural sports, fitness classes, and more at each location stop. This event is FREE and open to current Sac State students.
Civic Engagement Resource Fair
Make your way to the Library Quad between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., where community change makers will be presenting at tables. They will discuss key topics like policy change, equity, and equality, and provide valuable resources on opportunities for student involvement in civic affairs! Come learn from community and Sac State partners who are making a difference and discover how you can be part of affecting change. You can also register to vote, grab a limited edition "Vote 2024" button from Herky, and play Bingo for a chance to win cool prizes!
