WHY BRING A BUS?

Feria de Educación has hosted an average of 30 buses filled with eager students seeking information towards their college future every year. This year, Sacramento State is looking to bring more than 50 busses filled with students that are ready to learn about college.

This is your school, district, or program’s opportunity to eliminate the barrier for your students and families to attend an important higher education fair, to learn more about their college options, and to get educated on resources.

We Offer:

  • Educational Exhibitors—approximately 70 universities, community colleges, educational organizations, and nonprofit groups participate and provide information and resources to students and their families.

  • The California Student Aid Commission Cash for College Sessions—bilingual individual assistance completing the FAFSA and the California Dream Act Application.

  • Workshops in Spanish—focused on topics such as financial aid and scholarships, admission to a CSU and UC, services for undocumented students, exploring career options, and more.

  • CSU Apply—bilingual individual assistance completing the admissions application to attend Sacramento State as a first time freshman or transfer student.

  • Entertainment—Our entertainment varies from year to year. In the past, we have offered mariachi, Ballet Folklorico, Aztec dancers, Colombian and salsa dancers among others.

NEW! INCENTIVE PROGRAM

To show you our commitment to your school, we are offering two new incentives for your school to choose from if you commit to bringing buses filled with your students:

rebate-icon.pngOption 1: Bus Rebate Program! For the first time ever, we are offering a limited number of $300 rebates for participating schools and districts who are busing in their students. You must submit an invoice (template can be provided) and back-up documentation of your bus costs to be reimbursed after the event.

voucher-icon.pngOption 2: Attendee Lunch Vouchers! Every attendee that steps off your bus can be granted a lunch voucher, which can be used at any of the campus eateries located in the University Union.

I'VE COMMITTED A GROUP/BUS, WHAT'S NEXT?

Thank you or committing to bring a bus to this year’s Feria de Educacion. Your commitment is helping make an impact to the many young students that seek to obtain a college degree.

Now that you have committed a bus—here’s what to bring:

  • Attire— comfortable shoes and clothes. Each year has varied in weather, so be sure to check the weather ahead of time.

  • Evaluations—our representative will send you pre-evaluations in advance. Please have them filled out prior to arriving. (We would advise filling them out on the ride over)

  • Supplies—we advise bringing pen/pencils and a notebook so that you can take notes during the event. Now that you have committed a bus— here’s how you can keep up leading up to the event:

  • Buses—We request that each school participating fills up each bus with 30+ students. Exceeding this amount would be greatly appreciated by Sacramento State.

  • Emails—Our representative will periodically send reminders regarding pre-evaluations leading up to the Feria de Educacion event.
