Transfer Bridge Program
Transfer Bridge Program is a collaboration between the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and DEGREES Project. The program will begin on June 23 to July 31, 2025. At the end of Transfer Bridge, a student celebration will be held to commemorate Transfer Bridge students' successful completion of this program.
Transfer Bridge Academy is a free intensive six-week summer academic program designed to assist transfer students to make a smooth transition from community college to Sacramento State. This program is optional for incoming transfer students who come from underrepresented backgrounds. The program focuses on academic, social, and personal development with a mission to enrich the students’ transitional experience.

Program Goals
- Goal 1: The Transfer Bridge Program will promote timely graduation by enrolling students in the appropriate course(s).
- Goal 2: The Transfer Bridge Program will facilitate students’ commitment and connection to Sacramento State through meaningful interactions with students, instructors, and staff.
- Goal 3: Transfer Bridge Students will effectively utilize academic and counseling support offered through EOP which includes identifying the graduation requirements and identifying other useful resources at the Sacramento State campus.

Virtual Program
This year’s program is fully online in an asynchronous format. Students will need access to the internet and a computer to do their assignments and attend classes which will be offered through Canvas and Zoom.
Program Costs
Transfer Bridge is FREE! However, students must be enrolled for the Fall 2025 semester for courses to be credited. Classes taken during Transfer Bridge will be added in the fall schedule by the department and no action is required by the student. If the student is enrolled in less than 12 units in the fall, then the student will be responsible for paying those additional fees.

Transfer Bridge Program is a free intensive six-week summer academic program designed to assist transfer students to make a smooth transition from community college to Sacramento State.
The program is optional for incoming transfer students of underrepresented minority backgrounds attending Sacramento State in the fall. This program offers upper-division college-level classes that help students get acclimated to the campus, get ahead in their academia, career, and provides opportunities for additional tutoring and networking with Sacramento State peers, staff, and professors.
Any incoming Sacramento State transfer student from an underrepresented minority backgrounds can apply to Transfer Bridge. Applicants must be California residents or AB 540.
Transfer students may enroll in the Psychology 137 - Stress Management course during the summer. Once students pass the course, they will meet the GE area D upper-division units and will be ahead of other transfer students. Students will also receive academic counseling, tutoring, and resources to help them transition and succeed at a university level.
Be admitted and accept admissions to Sacramento State.
Classes are six weeks in the summer in an Asynchronous format.
June 23 and end on July 31, 2025.
Transfer Bridge is FREE! However, you must be enrolled in at least 12 units in the Fall 2025 semester. Classes taken during Summer Bridge will be added to your fall schedule by the department and no action is required by the student. If you are enrolled in less than 12 units in the fall, then you are responsible for paying those additional fees.
The space is limited; this program is available to qualified students on a first come first serve basis.
Complete the application by April 30, and you will receive a notification of your acceptance by June.
Transfer Bridge will be held online via Canvas; therefore, there is no need to move to Sacramento for the program. We DO NOT provide on-campus accommodations for students during the six-week program.
Classes taken during Transfer Bridge will be added to your Fall 2025 schedule by the department and no action is required by the student. If students withdraw for the Fall 2025 semester, classes cannot be posted or credited. Your grades will be available when all Fall 2025 grades are released in early January 2026.
Participants must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units in the Fall 2025 semester to avoid paying additional fees. If student withdraws for the Fall 2025 semester classes cannot be posted or credited.
