Community Engagement

USA helps staff members become engaged with our community, whether its creating opportunities for volunteering or providing the location to drop off donations.

USA has partnered with Josh's Heart. Josh's Heart is a non-profit created by our own Sac State staff member, Don Nahhas. This non-profit helps the local homeless community surrounding Sac State.

Josh's Heart: Fall/Winter Blessing Backpack Drive Coming Soon!

Hello Hornet Family!

Our Fall/Winter Blessing Backpack Drive is fast approaching. Each drive, we ask family and friends to help with donations of items to fill the Blessing Backpacks that will be hand delivered to the homeless in our area. With generous cash donations, we are able to purchase many of the items that make up our Blessing Backpacks. However, we are not able to purchase everything. This is where the Hornet family can help. We are in the need for the following items:

  • New Fleece Blankets
  • New Men's Calf Socks
  • $10 Gift Cards for Fast Food (McDonalds, Subway, Taco Bell, Wendys, etc).

These items can be brought to my office, River Front Center, 212 or contact me at (916) 340-5437 for alternated drop off. Donation items are needed by Monday, October 21st.

Finally, Let us know if you want to volunteer for Blessing Backpack Assembly or Delivery (dates below). Families and friends of all ages are welcome!
