Alumnus J. Luke Wood, Ph.D., will be Sacramento State’s next president
CSU trustees on May 24 announced J. Luke Wood, Ph.D., as their choice to be Sacramento State's next president. Wood, a Sac State alum, is scheduled to officially assume his responsibilities on July 16, becoming the University's ninth president. Read more about Dr. Wood

Presidential Search Open Forum
The interim chancellor and the Trustees Committee for the Selection of the President hosted a hybrid open forum on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. in the University Union Ballroom. The forum provided members of the campus and surrounding community an opportunity to participate in person or virtually via live stream and share their thoughts about the qualities and experiences needed by the next president of Sacramento State.
