Belonging & Bridging Curriculum
What is the Color of Your Heart? A Humanist Approach to Diversity by Dr. Rose Borunda explores the lives and efforts of white Euro-Americans who, guided by humanist ideals, fought for the rights of marginalized groups in U.S. history, including people of color, Native Americans, and women. The book highlights figures who worked against slavery, genocide, and gender inequality, contrasting their actions with the capitalistic figures typically celebrated in history. It also integrates the Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies (MSJCC), offering educators tools to inspire students to be agents of social change, with real-life examples of activism and hope.
