International Graduate Applicant Requirements
Applicants must posses the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor degree to apply for a graduate program. If you have a 3-year foreign degree, a 3rd party evaluation is necessary to process your application. For all other degrees, International Admissions conducts in-house review of foreign credentials for F-1 and J-1 applicants. A WES evaluation is not required*, but accepted if applicants choose to submit official transcripts and degree certificates through WES (please review the exception for Computer Science below). Other Sacramento State accepted credential evaluation services are ACEI and ECE. Applicants electing to have one of these agencies proceed with the evaluation do so at their own expense. Sacramento State will not reimburse applicants. Please note that if your transcripts are not translated, you will be required to seek the services of a translation agency. We recommend checking in with your home university first to see if they can provide you with both a translated and original transcript.
Graduate level applicants are ineligible to apply for a second Master's degree in a field which they already hold a Master's diploma.
*Applicants who apply for the M.S. in Computer Science or M.S. in Computer Science (Software Engineering) are required to submit a WES, ECE, or ACEI evaluation. The ICAP report is required if ordering through WES.
