Spring 2022: January 10 - March 1, 2022 (while HEERF funds last)
The Hornet Laptop Discount Program offers new and transfer undergraduate students enrolled in a minimum of six (6) units a discount on an eligible laptop purchased from the Hornet Bookstore.
There's no need to apply for this discount - it's part of the checkout/payment process. Depending on your discount and eligible device selected, you'll be able to substantially reduce - or even eliminate! - the cost of purchasing a laptop to support your coursework.

Spring 2022: January 10 - March 1, 2022 (while HEERF funds last)
The Hornet Laptop Discount Program promotion utilizes HEERF Emergency Grant funding to provide a discount for new and transfer undergraduate students to use towards the purchase of an eligible laptop from the Hornet Bookstore. Desktop computers are not included in this promotion. Eligible students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) units in order to receive a one-time HEERF discount of either $600 or $900 depending on their financial aid status for Spring 2022. While HEERF funds last.
This program was made available for students enrolled in past semesters, but that program has now ended. For Spring 2022, only new and transfer undergraduate students are eligible, and the discount cannot be transferred or shared with another student. Due to HEERF emergency funding ending, Sacramento State does not expect the program to continue past Spring 2022.
Eligible undergraduate students do not need to apply for this HEERF discount as it is built-in to the checkout/payment process, and is separate from other HEERF or CARES grants students may apply for. Discount applies to an eligible laptop valued between $500 to $1,400 purchased through the Hornet Bookstore. If the total purchase price of an eligible laptop (including sales tax and shipping if applicable) is less than the student's discount, no refund of the difference will be processed. Discount amount can be requested in advance through the Hornet Bookstore, and/or looked up with a Student ID and PIN (birthday MM/DD) prior to/during checkout at hornetbookstore.com.
Students have the option to add any remaining purchase balance to their Student Account through the Bursar's Office Bookstore Loan Program through February 4, 2022. While the Hornet Laptop Discount Program runs through March 1, students needing to use the Bookstore Loan Program are encouraged to purchase their laptop without delay. Balance must be paid in full by March 11, 2022.

How to Buy
Whether you buy your laptop online or in-store, we've highlighted the steps. And remember - you don't need to apply for this HEERF discount - it's already built-in to the checkout/purchase process. Follow these step-by-step instructions to ensure you apply your discount and process payment correctly:
Payment Options
- Pay in full for an eligible laptop from the Hornet Bookstore valued between $500 to $1,400, and apply your one-time HEERF discount at time of purchase.
- Purchases can be made online or in-store at the Hornet Bookstore. You'll be asked for your Student ID# and your "PIN" which is your birthday (MM/DD).
- After the discount is applied, students are responsible to pay the difference in cost including sales tax and shipping (if applicable).
- If the total purchase price of an eligible laptop (including sales tax and shipping if applicable) is less than the student's discount, no refund of the difference will be processed.
Bookstore Loan Program
Need additional time to repay, or have pending financial aid funds you'd like to use? Check out the Bursar Office's Bookstore Loan Program, which allows you to add a remaining purchase balance to your Student Account for repayment. This opportunity ends February 4, 2022, and full repayment is due by March 11, 2022.
