Print Costs & OneCard/Hornet Bucks
Print Credits
Each semester, all active students receive $9 in complimentary print credits* on their OneCard to accommodate accidental prints, printer jams, or missprints.
*CCE and ELI students not eligible. Print credits carry no cash value, and cannot be refunded or credited. Print credits are "use or lose" and don't rollover each semester. Charges for prints begin after the full $9 in print credits have been used.
Add Funds to OneCard/Hornet Bucks
Your OneCard (aka Student ID) allows you to load funds ("Hornet Bucks") to use for campus purchases including PrintSmart.
- Once your $9 print credits have been used you will need to deposit funds to your OneCard account to continue to print and photocopy on PrintSmart machines.
- Add funds using your debit or credit card through My Sac State and clicking on the OneCard icon under "Popular Tools and Resources," or through other deposit options.
Checking Your Balance
- Login to PrintSmart Web to check your print credits/Hornet Bucks balance; or
- View it on a PrintSmart machine
Note: your balance is not visible at a Hornet Bucks Station/online statement, or in your OneCard dashboard on My Sac State.
Refunds
- Log in to PrintSmart.
- Click "Recent Print Jobs."
- Find the job you are requesting a reprint for, and under "Status," click "Request Refund."
- Fill out the “Request Refund” form and press "Send."
- If approved, credits will be returned to your OneCard account* within 1-2 business days.*
*No cash refunds for prints/photocopies, or refunds for prints using your $9 print credit.
