Exam material includes the Chapters listed
below, our class PowerPoint presentations, and our class discussions.
Below are my exam standards and guidelines:
- All exams are administered in
Canvas. I recommend that you install the Canvas app for your portable
devices as an alternative to using your computer.
- Canvas exams show only one
question at a time so students cannot copy the entire exam and email it
to other students.
- Exam questions and question
answers are randomized so if two students sit side-by-side they will not
have the same exam.
- Students cannot go back to
change their prior answers to minimize collaboration.
- Exam duration is 1 minute per
question plus 5 minutes for setup and other delays for a total time is
55 minutes.
- I use synchronized testing to
minimize sharing of answers (all students must start the exam within 15
minutes). After 15 minutes, I lock the students out and give take
another exam with a 25% penalty.
- During each lecture, I give
the answer to 2-3 multiple choice questions. About 10% of the exam is
from these class questions. Sharing question answers during class is my
way of encouraging class attendance and Zoom participation.
- Exams are open book and
notes.
