Lesson Guidelines: All lessons should have powerful uses of technology. The technology enhances students' ability to learn the content. Lessons have content and technology.
- All lessons are to be written in Taskstream using the TS Basic format (from the drop down menu)
- Lesson is written with enough detail that a substitute teacher could teach from the lesson
- Fill in all fields
- Objectives and standards should be related to one another (both content and technology)
- Students should be learning some new aspect of technology and the technology should allow greater access to the content for the learner.
- Technology standards are under National---ISTE---Student literacy
- Be sure to read the standards and use them partly as a guideline to incorporate key aspects into the lesson
- Procedures (numbered) should match objectives and standards
- If you write "discuss" include several higher order questions that will lead the discussion
- If you specify handouts or materials, include the specific handout in the procedures or resources
- It is helpful to know how many days the procedures cover
- Each lesson should have specific criteria for evaluation, most likely a rubric
(for the teacher and the students)
- If using rubrics form the Rubric Wizard, try to modify the rubric to match your lesson (e.g. instead of "the task" put in the specific name of the task ----"the graphic organizer".
- The evaluation/rubric should match both the objectives/standards and the lesson procedures.
- A draft of each lesson shared with a peer (share with reviewer button at the top of the lesson)
- When reviewing a peer's work, look under "my programs" on the left index for their lesson plan
- Make comments by clicking on comments in in sections
- When viewing the comments made on your lesson by a peer, go into your lesson builder to the specific lesson.
- Comments from peers should be incorporated into a final draft.
- Final draft is then shared with me ("share reviewer" button at the top of the lesson)---points awarded
- Lessons can be revised one more time and submitted to me again if you would like more points that awarded
