Criteria that enables movement to the Review Portfolio
Artifacts moved to the Review Portfolio must have progressed through the following
process.
Choose an artifact that you believe has merit. Use the "Reflection
Scaffold" (Word doc.) to assist
you in the reviewing, reflecting and revising sequence.
Personal Reflection Statements:
- What is the purpose of this artifact?
- Describe the intended audience, basic goals and objectives, fit into
the curriculum.
- How has this artifact been utilized, tested or otherwise reviewed?
- How has this artifact been modified from its initial form?
- How have the basic goals and objectives changed?
- What changes have been made in the activity?
- On what bases were the changes made?
- What effect has this artifact had on students, faculty and / or others?
- Based on your reflections,
- what additional changes might you make in this artifact?
- what future activities or projects might you undertake?
Peer Review:
- Which cohort colleagues have reviewed your artifact? At least two peers
must review your artifact.
- What guidance (e.g., statement of goals and objectives, rubric) did
you give them for the review?
- What comments and suggestions have cohort colleagues given you?
- What modifications have you made as a result of this peer review?
- Has this artifact been presented in a conference or staff development setting?
- If so, describe the setting, audience, and data gathering [feedback?]
techniques.
- Note: The feedback from a conference or staff development setting may
substitute for a cohort peer review.
Faculty Review:
- Which faculty members have reviewed your artifact? At least one faculty
member must review your artifact.
- What guidance (e.g., statement of goals and objectives, rubric) did
you give them for the review?
- What comments and suggestions have faculty members given you?
- What modifications have you made as a result of this faculty review?
Review of Literature:
At least four full-text library or online references must be cited in APA format
for each artifact. The review of literature for the Action Research project
must be more comprehensive and extensive. See guidelines, scaffolds and
examples below.
