Objectives:
Upon completion of this unit students should be able to:
Discuss the economic importance of deltas
Identify major deltaic facies, and describe sedimentary structures and water depths in each facies
Be familiar with fluvial, wave and tide-dominated deltas and their features
List and discuss features, sedimentary structures, fossils or relationships that are common in a deltaic sequence
Identify eolian dune forms based on the number of slip faces
Distinguish between barchan and parabolic dunes
Discuss common interdune features
Talk about where wadi deposits form
