How to Make a Year-End Gift

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Make payable to “University Foundation at Sacramento State.”
  2. In the memo line, please note the area/fund you wish to support and mail to: Development Office, 6000 J St. MS 6030, Sacramento, CA 95819
  3. For the donation to count for the 2024 calendar year, the postmark date for checks sent via USPS must be on or before December 31, and Sacramento State must receive checks sent via FedEx or UPS by December 17.

Required minimum distribution checks must be received at Sac State by Tuesday, December 17, 2024, to be cashed by the December 31 deadline.

We cannot guarantee confirmation of receipt before December 31, 2024, but please know you will receive confirmation of your gift in January.

Important dates

  • Tuesday, December 24, 2024 to Wednesday, January 1, 2025 — the University will be closed for the holidays.

  1. Make a gift by 11:59 p.m. PST on December 31, 2024.
  2. Designate a general gift to the Sac State Greatest Needs Fund or select the area/fund you wish to support.

Credit card gifts should not be sent by USPS, FedEx, UPS, or other mailing services, as there is no guarantee they will be processed before December 31, 2024. We cannot backdate credit card gifts.

When you make an online gift, you will receive a gift receipt via email. For other forms of payment, we cannot guarantee confirmation of receipt before December 31, 2024, but please know you will receive confirmation of your gift in January.

  • Tuesday, December 24, 2024 to Wednesday, January 1, 2025 — the University will be closed for the holidays.

  1. Provide Sac State's wire information to your financial institution.
  1. Include your full name in the memo with the wire transfer.
  2. Notify Steven Loya, Director of Planned Giving, at (916) 278-6115 with the details of your intention.

For specific wire information and instructions, contact Steven. Please include your full name, the amount to be transferred, the name of your financial institution, and the date of the transfer.

Please initiate the wire transfer to ensure receipt by 11:59 p.m. PST on December 31, 2024. Steven Loya will confirm receipt of the transfer; however, this cannot be guaranteed before December 31, 2024.

  1. Contact your broker/bank as soon as possible to make a gift of security. Most brokerage firms have early deadlines for guaranteed delivery by the end of the year.
  2. Contact Steven Loya, Director of Planned Giving, at (916) 278-6115 to inform him of the type of stock and number of shares.

Sacramento State needs to receive hand-delivered certificates and certificates sent via FedEx or UPS by Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Certificates received via USPS must be postmarked by December 31, 2024, to be considered a 2024 gift.

We cannot guarantee confirmation of receipt before December 31, 2024, but please know you will receive confirmation of your gift in January.

The University Foundation at Sacramento State (“Foundation”), located at 6000 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95819, was established in 1986 as the philanthropic arm of the University to promote, assist, and enhance the educational mission of Sacramento State. Donors may give gifts to the Foundation for specific University purposes, and may obtain tax benefits in accordance with State of California and United States Federal laws.
