Fall Dinner - November 8, 2024
Online registration is now open for the annual Fall Dinner on November 8, 2024, at the Harper Alumni Center. Gathering time begins at 5:00pm with dinner served at 6:00pm. We will introduce the 2024/25 student scholarship winners, followed by a brief business meeting and door prize drawings. The cost of the dinner will remain the same at $45.

Vintage Clock Auction
Virginia Dixon, Emerita Professor of Educational Leadership, has donated a vintage clock to the Retirees Association to be auctioned, the proceeds of which would go toward our student scholarship fund. We are very grateful to Virginia for this wonderful gift.
Virginia describes the clock as "an exquisite, handmade antique mantle clock. It is brass with many moving gears, made in Paris as a presentation piece for a birthday, anniversary, wedding, etc. Date is circa 1875." The clock has been restored by a master clock and watch repair jeweler at his shop in Fair Oaks. He estimates its value at about $2,800.
This will be the first time we have tried to auction an item like this as a fund raiser and we will evaluate its effectiveness based on the results of the auction.
We are setting the minimum bid at $1,200 and will conduct a silent auction for the clock at the Fall Dinner on November 8, 2024. After the dinner, we will continue the silent auction via email to all retirees who were not able to attend the dinner. Watch for an email after November 8 with details on how to submit a bid and the deadline by which bids must be received.
