Fall Dinner, "A Taste of Italy," w/ Italian Culture, Nov. 2, 2012
A little bit of Italy was recreated at the Alumni Center on Friday, November 2. One hundred and twenty Retirees Association members and guests enjoyed an Italian meal enhanced by Italian style wines. In true Italian style, there was music, laughter and talk, as well as a lot to look at! Outside was a sleek and snazzy 2012 FIAT Abarthe, topped with red bow and parked right at the entry. Inside were books from the CSUS Library Italian Collection, Italian mementos, travel photos, and Italian themed books collected and offered for sale by the CSUS Friends of the Library. A classic Italian bicycle was on exhibit from “Edible Pedal” in downtown Sacramento and, for the very style conscious, Italian eyeglasses and accessories were displayed by “Eyeglass Charlies” at Town and Country Village.
At the end of the evening 42 lucky winners went home with either a bottle of Bariani Olive Oil, a gift certificate from an Italian restaurant, an Italian cookbook, a bottle of California wine, tickets from the departments of Music and Theatre and Dance, a gift from the Hornet Bookstore, and more. A complete list of the donors, can be read at the Appreciation link under “Supporters.”
Thanks go to Dinner Committee members Linda Martin, Karen Peterson, Nancy Tooker and Jean Torcom for a great evening, and to Photographers Lou Lower and Larry Glasmire for creating the photographic record of the event.
