Greeters

It all begins months before as volunteers make arrangements. And in the hours before the event are Jean Torcom who prepared all the membership cards, Sylvia Navari and Linda White organizing the package of materials to give to members, and Geri Welch, our new Staff Respresentative on the board who prepared all the name tags. Another who works silently and effectively in the background is our treasurer Gene Knepprathwho not only pays bills and writes checks, but records all the applications and distributes information to several others for the membership cards, name tags and to help put together these photo pages. We simply can't do without Gene.

Photo of John CozzaJohn is also president of the Sacramento Saturday Club that was organized in 1893. Learn more about the Sacramento Saturday Club.

Bob Krebs accepted an award on behalf of his wife, Wilma Krebs. The award from the Emeritus Association was presented by Bob Curry who wrote the article "The Legacy of Wilma Krebs" that appeared in the recent silver anniversary issue of the Silver Bulletin. Bob Krebs was accompanied by his daughter, Susan Raymond, who spoke about her mother.Check presentaion

Our Association President, now Past-President for 2011, presented David Wagner, Vice President for Human Resources, with a check for $10,000 to support campus programs and scholarships selected by the Emeritus Board. This special anniversary gift, nearly three-times as much as the Association has ever presented to the campus in past years.

The gift represents the dues paid for life-time memberships over the past seven years. Given recent enhancements to the organizations relationship to the University, the board felt that it did not need to keep these funds in reserve.
