Sac State Events 2024

  • October 7 to November 7 – "Why We Vote" Art Exhibit – Project for an Informed (PIE) is sponoring a visual representations of why we vote, participate in politics, and engage in our communities. The interactive exhibit asked viewers to consider others’ reasons and share their own reason for participating in politics and their communities. University Union, Exhibit Lounge, 2nd floor
  • October 8 – Civic Engagement Resource Fair –The Community Engagement Center is hosting a tabling event with various civically-minded community organizations where student will learn about valuable resources on opportunities for student involvement in civic affairs. STOP BY THE VOTER REGISTRATION TABLE! Library Quad, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • October 8 – Westside Voter Connection: Where Voting Meets the Culture – The Division of Student Affairs and the California Legislative Black Staff Association is hosting an event to break down the California ballot initiatives so you can cast your vote with confidence. STOP BY THE VOTER REGISTRATION TABLE! American River Courtyard Large Conference Room, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • October 16 – Initiative Explainer – The Legislative Analyst's Office (LAO) and the Project for an Informed Electorate's (PIE) is hosting an event at the Sacramento Public Library that will provide non-partisan expertise from LAO describing the impact of the measure, and also reviewing the endorsements and campaign contributions. After the event, PIE will post 5-minute videos on each measure to share with any California voter. Bring your ballot! Downtown Library Galleria, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • October 23 – A Guide to Election Week: How to Prepare, How It All Works, What to What – The Project for an Informed Electorate (PIE) is hosting a panel presenation that will provide an overview of Election Week, including preparation tips, an explanation of the election process, and key things to know about the election. University Union, Folsom Room, 3rd floor, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m

  • October 29 – Ballots & Boba! – Join the APIDA Center and Full Circle Project in to come together, be in community, and educate yourself on important issues that will be on the ballot this year. Karaoke, boardgames and snacks will be available. Boba provided by Honeybee Boba Café. Lassen Hall 2200, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Sac State Vote Center

Vote Center Location:

Sacramento State will also again host a Vote Center on campus at Modoc Hall, Willows Suites, 1-3. The Vote Center, operated by Sacramento County’s Department of Voter Registration and Elections, replaces the traditional Election Day-only polling places. It will be open for the three days prior to the election and on Election Day. Any registered voter in Sacramento County can vote there in person or drop off their completed ballot.

Vote Center Hours:

  • Saturday, Nov. 2 from 6:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. - Election Day

Drop Box Location:

While each county in California conducts its own elections, we are excited that voters who choose not to mail their ballot in, can use a Sacramento County Department of Voter Registration and Elections Ballot Drop Box that will be located at the front entrance of the Welcome Center (located next to Parking Structure 5).

The drop box will be available during normal business hours through Election Day on November 5, 2024.
