Lance Hastings
Lance Hastings '87, EMBA '22 (Economics)
President
Lance serves as President/CEO of the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA), having assumed the role in November 2018. In that capacity, he leads a prominent business-oriented trade association with a legacy of success and engagement. Prior to joining CMTA, he served as Vice President of National Affairs for MillerCoors. During his 15 years with the brewing industry, Hastings served in state, regional, national, and international capacities. His international experience was as Head of Regulatory & Tax Affairs for SABMiller located in London, England. Before his extensive career as a manufacturing executive, Hastings was the Vice President of Government Relations at the California Grocers Association and Senior Director for State Affairs at the Grocery Manufacturers of America. Hastings also served as legislative staff in the California State Legislature for almost a decade, concluding as a Chief Consultant in 1997. He was also recently elected to the Gold Country Region Red Cross Board of Directors.

Rabbil Green
Rabbil Green '06 (Communication Studies)
President-Elect, Nominating Committee Chair
As the Career Development & Learning Manager for SMUD, Rabbil leads a team of learning technologists and training facilitators to implement workforce development strategy and meet enterprise professional development needs. Rabbil also provides thought leadership and oversight of cross-functional partnerships that support SMUD’s enterprise-wide learning technology, change management, and regional workforce development efforts. Rabbil previously taught instructional technology courses part-time as an instructor with Sac State’s College of Continuing Education, and spent most of his nearly 15-year civil service career working for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. Rabbil earned his bachelor’s degree in communication studies in 2006 from Sac State, his MBA from the University of Arizona, and his Instructional Design certificate in 2013. He is also a NELP Senior Fellow (Class X).

Devin Lavelle

Devin is the Assistant Director of the California Research Bureau, providing non-partisan, independent research for the Governor and the Legislature with a focus on economics, data analysis & visualization. He currently volunteers as a Cub Scout Den Leader, PTA Treasurer, Friends of the Sacramento River Parkway Steering Committee member, and Wonk Wednesday co-founding Wonk. He formerly served as Parks & Community Enrichment Commissioner on behalf of Sacramento's District 7, is a past president of our Hornets Policy & Politics Alumni Chapter and previously served on the Sacramento State Downtown School of Public Affairs Task Force and the Mayor's Project Prosper Working Group.

Catherine Borg
Catherine Borg '92 (Communication Studies)
VP of Networks and Chapters Engagement
Catherine is a lobbyist for Southern California Edison and has extensive experience in legislative affairs and political action while representing business owners of manufactured housing communities, long-term care and trucking interests at the state capitol. She started her career in legislative affairs right out of Sacramento State through a student connection made in a Communication Studies night class. In addition, Catherine serves as a Board Member for the Institute of Governmental Advocates and the CalAsian Chamber of Commerce. Both her father and son are alumni, making three generations of Hornets.

Ryan Chan
Ryan Chan ’16, MBA '20 (Business Administration)
VP of Finance
Ryan is the Vice President & SBA Production Supervisor for Five Star Bank’s small business lending unit. Where he leads a high performing team to assist small businesses nationwide to attain their dreams through proper financing. He’s worked with the Bank since graduating from Sacramento State’s undergraduate program of entrepreneurial studies. As a double alumnus of Sacramento State Ryan completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Utilizing his experiences and education Ryan assist small businesses daily through his work at the Bank and in his personal life alike. In his spare time, he is involved with various programs such as MetroEdge, the young professionals’ program of the Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation.

David Murillo
David Murillo '99 (Business Administration)
VP of Membership Engagement
David is an experienced association management executive specializing in governance, membership, strategic planning, and government affairs. He is President + CEO of Compass Management Solutions, a national nonprofit management firm. David's leadership experience includes serving as Chair of the California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE) Board (2020-2021) and being named CalSAE’s Association Executive of the Year (2018). He is also a 2024-2026 Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) Scholar with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). David has also served on the Boards of The Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus, The Council for Giving, and the California Capital Region of Sigma Chi. While earning his undergraduate degree at Sacramento State, David served on the University Union Board of Directors and was active in the Greek community.

Dr. Nkiruka Catherine Ohaegbu

VP of Scholarship & VP of Administration
Dr. Ohaegbu established Adaptive Strategies Consulting, providing expertise in public policy, advocacy, and strategic planning. She also serves as a commissioner on the City of Sacramento’s Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy Commission. Previously, she worked in public affairs, government relations, and enterprise project governance roles at PG&E. Prior to that, she served as a Business Loan Specialist at the US Small Business Administration, and was Assistant Director of Planning and Policy at Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency. She also served in several positions in the Office of Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. including special assistant to the Governor and First Lady. Nkiruka also sits on the boards of the YMCA of Superior California, PBS KVIE, and the leadership council for We Prosper Together (CA Jobs First). Nkiruka holds a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University, an MBA from California State University, Sacramento, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Georgia State University.
