Nataly Andrade–Dominguez (student)

Nataly currently serves as the President of Associated Students, Inc. (ASI). She is a fourth year student at Sacramento State and grew up in Pacoima, California. She is majoring in political science. Creating a community of caring and support for students is high on her agenda as ASI President.
Melissa Bardo

During her studies at Sacramento State, Melissa served as the ASI President, in addition to several other leadership and volunteer roles. Melissa was a first-generation college student and the first in her family to attend graduate school, earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) at UC Davis. Since completing her graduate degree, she has been working in higher education policy. Melissa experienced the transformational power of higher education at Sac State and currently works to advance educational equity for college students across the state. Melissa resides in Sacramento with her husband (also a Sac State graduate) and daughter.

Olivia is a proud Sacramento native with nearly a decade of experience organizing high-impact events for
the Greater Sacramento region's elected officials, business leaders and community members. In her current role at Greater Sacramento Economic Council (GSEC), Olivia drives regional economic development through strategic community engagement initiatives and educational programming. In addition to her role at GSEC, Olivia is a Teach For America California Capital Valley Advisory board member, as well as a member of Visit Sacramento's LGBTQ Advisory Committee.

Saori is passionate about helping people realize their full potential and currently serves as an executive coach at GEICO. She brings over 20 years of leadership and management experience in the fields of banking, insurance, and non-profits. Saori earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from Sacramento State and is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Class XX and the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program, Class III. She resides in the Washington D.C. area and remains engaged in the Sacramento community.

Rebecca Delmundo is a dynamic leader with over 20 years’ experience in the financial industry. She currently leads a team of financial educators and experts at SAFE Credit Union who ensure its employees, members, and the community are provided with holistic and innovative solutions to enhance and maintain their financial well-being. Prior to serving at SAFE, Rebecca led Golden 1 Credit Union’s financial education team where she was responsible for the organization’s financial education programs. Rebecca and her husband Edward live in Elk Grove with their three children and in her spare time she enjoys exercising, reading, and volunteering with local non-profit organizations.

David Inniss
David Inniss, MBA '04
Director of Product Management, Luxer
David Inniss is a graduate of WestPoint, where he earned a bachelor’s in Computer Science. He holds an MBA from Sac State and a Doctorate in Education Leadership and Management from Drexel University. With a 20-year career in technology, David has a passion for helping organizations leverage human capital to boost productivity, inspire innovation and enhance culture. He currently serves as the Director of Product Management at Sacramento-based Luxer One and as a grad school professor at William Jessup University. Dr. Inniss is a father of two teenage boys and lives by the mantra “Pave the way, bridge gaps, and serve others!”
Ted Kappel

Ted is the founder of Kappel Mortgage Group, Inc (KMG), a Sacramento-based mortgage brokerage firm where he currently serves as CEO. Under his leadership, KMG has grown into a respected player in the Sacramento business community, earning accolades for its exceptional customer service, production, and community involvement. Ted is an active member of the East Sacramento community, having served as President of the East Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and sponsoring and creating numerous community events like "The Taste of East Sacramento", local schools, sports teams, and neighborhood events like Pops in the Park. He also volunteers in the community and is committed to creating a win-win environment for all. During his time at Sac State, Ted served as the President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, chapter Cal XI, and developed a passion for leadership and community service that has defined his career.
Matt Knutsen

Matt is a structural engineer with extensive experience in the design of Data Centers and other high-tech
facilities. He strongly believes in collaborative design and building solid team environments as a means to tackling the biggest challenges in the industry. After his time at Sacramento State, Matt continued his education in the CSU system earning a Master’s in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University and his MBA from Cal State East Bay.

Ron is the founder/managing director of Trifecta Management Group (TMG), a concept development, management, marketing, and consulting firm, specializing in the entertainment/restaurant industry. Prior to TMG, he was CEO/President of GameWorks (a Universal Studios/DreamWorks/Sega entertainment joint venture), SVP/CFO of Universal Studios Hollywood and Corporate Director of Planning for MCA Inc./Universal Studios. His board experience includes both non-profit and for-profit organizations, including Mandarins of Sacramento, Inc., 2020 USA Olympic Track & Field Trials (venue) and CentroMart Inc. While at Sac State, Ron was the President of the inaugural Asian Student Union. He also has his MBA from University of Southern California.
Doug McCauley

Sacramento State was the launching pad for Doug’s public service career. The Sacramento Semester
internship, late-night study groups in Sutter Hall, and his favorite professor who encouraged him to speak
up were instrumental in his experiences. Before serving as the Real Estate Commissioner, his career
includes work with the California Building Officials, California Coalition for Construction in the Classroom,
California Architects Board, and the California Department of Housing & Community Development. Doug
has also served on a number of professional boards and has volunteered with several community
organizations.

Kristy has more than 15 years of experience in program management in product and technology organizations. She currently supports the Information Technology group at G-P, a global SaaS company providing services to help businesses hire employees around the world. Kristy currently serves as Chair of the Metro Chamber’s Leadership Sacramento Alumni Association where she leads programming for the 900+ alumni network. She also volunteers for Single Mom Strong, coaching women re-entering the workforce.

Mariana Sabeniano

A first-generation college graduate, Mariana believes that education is the greatest equalizer which led her to public service. Mariana has fourteen years of experience in government and public service. She currently serves as a Trustee on the Sacramento County Board of Education and as Chief of Staff to Senator Monique Limon. She is actively involved with organizations throughout Sacramento and statewide. Mariana has participated in several leadership programs, such as Nueva Epoca 2021, Leadership Sacramento 2020 and the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP), Class X. In 2015, she earned her Master of Science in Law from McGeorge School of Law. Mariana has volunteered extensively with the Hornets Policy and Politics Alumni (HPPA) Chapter, serving as Past President, and has been a lifetime member of the Alumni Association, since 2015.

In his role with the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the major trade association representing the U.S. chemical and plastics industry, Tim is responsible for developing and implementing ACC’s lobbying and government affairs efforts in 13 western states. In addition to his Sacramento State degree, he graduated from the UC Davis specialized public relations program. During his time as a student, Tim was on the Men’s Golf team and has remained active with the athletics program.

Kristen is a higher education leader with more than 25 years of experience as both a faculty member and administrator. Before joining the Office of the President as deputy chief of staff, she was Sac State’s director of debate and a faculty member in the Communication Studies Department for 18 years. Kristen came to Sac State to pursue a master’s degree in 2002 and has been a member of the Hornet Family ever since.
Karen Zamarripa

Karen has over four decades of experience in higher education, legislative matters and state budgeting
including 25 years leading the California State University (CSU) Advocacy and State Relations office. She
came to Sacramento as a Senate Fellow after completing her Urban and Regional Planning degree at the
University of Southern California (USC). She established her own consulting firm in 2016 and has since
worked for all segments of public and private higher education as well as Head Start, the College Futures
Foundation, and the Representatives of California Rural Counties (RCRC).
