About Community Relations and Campus Engagement
Welcome to Community Relations and Campus Engagement. The mission of the office is to promote Sacramento State and cultivate public support for it and its students. The office serves as the official voice of the University in engaging with Sac State students and local community partners. The Advocacy team actively shares examples of academic excellence and student success, as well as university priorities in an effort to secure resources and support.
The Office of Community Relations and Campus Engagement also plays a key part in fostering Sacramento State’s institutional role as a leading convener of educators, policymakers, and civic and thought leaders who address current issues that impact our society, economy, and democracy. The Office is responsible for the oversight of Sacramento State Downtown, a hub for innovation, teaching, learning, and research. Additionally, the Office facilitates the Anchor University initiative to deepen the university’s roots in the community and focus on developing long-term relationships and partnerships that mutually benefit the campus and the community.

Rita Gallardo Good
Senior Associate Vice President
Rita Gallardo Good is the Senior Associate Vice President in the Office of Community Relations and Campus Engagement. She is responsible for strategically developing, fostering, and maintaining campus partnerships with regional and community partners, the private sector, local industry, ethnic chambers of commerce, and non-government organizations. Ms. Good supports the day-to-day operations at Sacramento State Downtown, focusing on event planning, communication, and marketing. She previously served as the Director of Civic Affairs for the University. She is a proud Hornet and will complete the Doctorate in Educational Leadership program at Sacramento State in May 2024. She has a master’s in Public Administration and a bachelor’s in Business Management from the University of La Verne.
Elisa Trimboli
Anchor University Partnership Manager
Elisa Trimboli serves as the Anchor University Partnership Manager at California State University, Sacramento. In that position, she oversees the development and coordination of anchor university efforts. The position is responsible for maintaining relations with University units and community organizations to strategically and thoughtfully create lasting partnerships that will benefit the University, its students, and the community. Prior to her time with the Anchor University initiative, Ms. Trimboli served as a program manager at the College of Continuing Education, working with international programming and workforce development certification programs. Before arriving at Sacramento State, she worked for nearly a decade at Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE) program at Chico State as their Outreach & Operations Program Manager. She worked with campus units and community partners to create community service programs. Ms. Trimboli earned her bachelor's degree from Chico State in Recreation Administration in community development. She is also a proud graduate of Sacramento State with a master's degree in Behavioral Sciences Gender Equity Studies.
Kimberlee Walker
Administrative Support Coordinator
Kimberlee Walker serves the Office of Community Relations and Campus Engagement as the Administrative Support Coordinator at the Sacramento State Downtown location. Kimberlee has been a trusted team member of the University for the past five years, working in the College of Continuing Education and the Department of Computer Science. In her role, Kimberlee supports the Downtown Building operations, tenants and guests, classes and events, and the overall strategic goals of the Office of Community Relations and Campus Engagement, including the Anchor University initiative. Kimberlee's vast experience includes working with the federal government at both the Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Her history of working with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the general public benefit her role. Kimberlee is a native of Sacramento and has deep roots and relationships in the region. She is also a Sac State Alumni (Stingers Up!) Please feel free to stop by and say hello. Her office is in DTN Room 206.
