“My experiences abroad in the United Kingdom, Germany, and France profoundly deepened my interest in foreign affairs. My undergraduate studies in International Relations also contributed to my interest in foreign affairs because they exposed me to the history and complex political landscapes of various countries. The U.S. Department of State works on a wide variety of policy issues I am passionate about, such as human rights and global health. It is important to understand that the events that happen in other countries can have an effect globally. I aspire to have a positive impact on foreign affairs through this internship.”
The student internship program is a paid internship program that gives current students the opportunity to work at U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide, various bureaus located in Washington, D.C., and at Department offices around the United States. It is an excellent opportunity for those looking for substantive learning experiences in a foreign affairs environment.
