GASPPA Board 2021-22
President: Diana Dominguez
Diana Dominguez (she/her) is president of GASPPA and a second year part-time MPPA student. She works in government relations at a child care nonprofit agency. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in economics at UC Davis in 2017.
Diana is passionate about serving her community and fostering belonging. As GASPPA president, she aspires to make all students feel welcomed, heard, and included.
In her free time, Diana enjoys writing, drinking chai, singing along to musical soundtracks, and playing video and board games.
Vice President: Connor Leahy
Connor Leahy (He/ Him) is the Vice President of the 2021-2022 GASPPA Board. He is beginning his second year in the MPPA program as a part-time student. He currently works as a Graduate Student Assistant for the Homelessness Coordinating and Financing Council.
After graduating from Sac State in 2015 he remained in the area and focused on fostering professional and social relationships. He is passionate about using his role as VP to foster professional connections between current students and alumni.
Connor enjoys exercising, reading, spending time with friends, dancing, and attending live music events in his free time.
Academic Director: Analisa Quintero
Analisa Quintero (she/her) is academic director of GASPPA and a second year part-time MPPA student. She works as a graduate student assistant for the Department of Justice in the Research Center. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs at Northern Arizona University in 2019.
Analisa is happy to be back in California and hopes to support her community through her work and in her free time. As GASPPA's academic director, she hopes to represent student interests and make sure students have their voices heard.
In her free time, Analisa enjoys spending time with friends out in nature, visiting new places, and hanging out with pets.
Financial Director: Karina Arroyo
Karina Arroyo (she/her) is the Finance Director of GASPPA’s 2021-2022 student board. She works at the City Manger’s Office in the City of Elk Grove as a Graduate Student Assistant, where she performs the duties of an Administrative Analyst. She graduated from the University of California, Riverside, in 2019 and took a gap year working for the Mayor of St. Helena.
Karina is looking forward to planning events for students to network and strengthen professional development. As Finance Director, she aims to raise funds for the Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship that awards students who have demonstrated a commitment to equitable access through research and/or public service.
Karina likes to visit the Sac State gym, play basketball, and watch reality TV in her free time.
Communications Director: Maria Jose Romo
Maria Jose Romo (she/her) is the communications director of GASPPA and a second-year part-time MPPA student. In 2020, she graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelors's degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Public Relations. She is a proud first-generation Latina, the first in her family to graduate college, and DACA recipient.
Maria's purpose and passion are to engage and empower the people who surround her because she understands that her future, and the entirety of the world's, is in their hands. She believes it is her duty to give others the tools, courage, and motivation they need to maximize their true potential.
In her free time, Maria loves to drink boba, watch films, collect plants, and spend hours creating color palettes for her graphic designs.
