About Fashion Sustainability Initiative & Collaboration
Fashion Sustainability Initiative & Collaboration
The Fashion and Sustainability Initiative and Collaboration (FSIC), as part of the Fashion Merchandising and Management Program at Sac State, serves as a hub to provide support to local and regional fashion businesses, school districts, and other organizations in the Sacramento community. Established based on John Elkington’s Triple Bottom Line Theory, the FSIC is intended as a bridge to connect higher education with our community partners.

Mission
- To provide accessible industry knowledge to help fashion businesses improve economic sustainability (Profit), social sustainability (People), and environmental sustainability (Planet).
- To offer educational tools and programs to the Sacramento community, such as school districts and organizations, to promote fashion sustainability practices.
- To provide a platform to our students to further apply what they learn in class in the professional world, and share their knowledge with the Sacramento community.
