Student Commitment

CSUS Economics Major Student Commitment

  • Make my Economics coursework a priority in my life
  • Only schedule classes at times and days that I know will fit into my other commitments for the entirety of the semester
  • Set aside sufficient hours each week to study for each of my Economics courses. According to the University's credit hour policy, the expectation is that for a 3-unit course, I am expected to spend up to 9 hours weekly in activities related to that course
  • Attend all lectures in my Economics courses and come to my classes prepared and ready to participate in class activities
  • Submit all assignments on time
  • Communicate with my professor when needed by visiting office hours and sending and responding to emails promptly
  • Periodically remind myself of the content of my course syllabi as well as the major requirements and university graduation requirements
  • Schedule advising appointments once a year with an Economics Advisor
  • Treat my fellow classmates as well as the faculty and staff with respect at all times
