Professor Thomas Swift Asian Studies Scholarship
Thomas D. Swift was a professor of History at Sacramento State from 1966 to 1998. His interests included Asian history, journalism, government, environment studies and all things Chinese and Japanese. Dr. Swift wrote extensively on his many travels to Asia, which included taking Sacramento State students to Japan. Following his death in 2016, an endowment he established funds scholarships in Government and Journalism, Asian and Asian American Studies, Environmental Studies, History and a travel scholarship to Japan for students with a minor in Japanese.
Mishra Family Scholarship
Yatish Mishra was born in India and immigrated to the United States at the age of 5 years old in 1969. Mr. Mishra quickly developed a passion for computers and technology which ultimately led to a long career in Engineering and business. He recently served as President and CEO of Xand Corporation providing state-of-the-art data center and cloud computing solutions to medium and large Enterprise companies. Prior to Xand, he was co-founder, President and CEO of RagingWire Enterprise Solutions in California, focusing on Data Center solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, with a specialty in Physical Electronics from the University of California, Davis. He generously funds this scholarship to support Asian Studies at Sacramento State.
