How did your doctorate prepare you for this particular career trajectory?
Through my years leading up to the doctoral program, my professional and research interests focused on community college transfer student success, particularly those from first-generation and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Within the first semester of the program, my experiences and skillsets as an educator were immediately affirmed and my cohort and I were involved in the learning process as co-creators of knowledge, research, and practice. Further, the Sac State EdD program assisted in my career trajectory by rapidly refining my professional and personal growth and consistently challenging me to identify and address institutional and systemic educational inequities and blindspots.

Advice for Prospective Ed.D. Students?
Find comfort through the discomfort, every experience teaches you something. Although challenging, it is not impossible, we are rooting for you!
