Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program for students who are enrolled in historically challenging general education (GE) courses.
It provides students credit (1 unit) to learn how to implement transferable academic learning strategies to increase grades in difficult college courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Economics, History, and many more challenging GE courses.
Classes
SI meets twice weekly during the semester to review class lectures and discussions.
Supplemental Instruction Plus
PARC provides free academic review and test preparation sessions connected to the Supplemental Instruction classes. These sessions are available for all students who may have conflicting schedules and missed the opportunity to register for the one-unit SI courses.
Sessions are scheduled throughout the semester, mostly before midterm and quizzes in the professor’s large lecture course.
