The College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies (SSIS) is hosting an open house to showcase how Sacramento State is bridging the gap between academic excellence and community engagement. This event is a great opportunity to learn about our community impact and how you can partner with us.

About the Event
We will have refreshments and informal presentations about our community impact throughout the event. Guests will have a chance to chat with Center representatives directly and learn about their focus areas.
The following Departments and Centers will have short presentations throughout the event:
- Institute for Social Research and Community Partners
- Department of Public Policy and Administration
- Education Insights Center
- Center for California Studies
The Community Engagement Center, the Project for an Informed Electorate, the Sacramento Semester Program, Sacramento's State Anchor University, and other community-focused initiatives will also be participating.
Parking
On-site parking is very limited. There are 63 spaces in total, 4 are disabled spaces. To park on-site, you need to pre-purchase a virtual parking permit. A permit can be purchased online by clicking this link and following the instructions provided.
Please note, spaces are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. For tandem parking, pull your vehicle forward, and sign in at the reception desk.
Street Parking
Additional short and long-term 10-hour metered parking is available in front of the building (S St.) and on all surrounding streets. Parking meters take coins and credit cards.
Parking Garages
Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., public parking can also be found in the following garages that are within two blocks of the building:
- 500 R Street Garage (operated by SP+ Parking): Enter from 5th Street, between Q and R Streets.
- Lincoln Plaza Garage (CalPERS building): Enter off of Q Street, between 4th and 5th Streets. Please note: You will not be able to retrieve your vehicle after 6 p.m. It will be locked in the parking garage until the next business day.
