CSU Startup Launch Competition
Sac State Innovators win BIG!
Two student teams won the University-wide Innovation Competition and earned an opportunity to represent Sac State at the CSU Startup Launch Competition held at CSU Dominguez Hills on May 3rd. Rather than a pitch competition, they competed in a showcase with different categories.
The Sunstone CSU Startup Launch Competition is a groundbreaking partnership designed to level the playing field for aspiring California State University entrepreneurs. The competition provides a platform for CSU students and recent alumni to showcase their innovative business ideas and compete for over $200K+ in prize money.
Team Azuki won Grand Prize 2nd Place!
Team Azuki won $20,000 Grand Prize 2nd Place for their venture: SafeGuardAI!
SafeGuardAI is a solution to prevent school shootings with an AI prediction/monitoring system. Team Azuki is comprised of Computer Science majors in the College of Engineering and Computer Science that include:
- John Son Dong
- Huy Duy Dao
- Gavin Garcia
- Enrique De La Torre
- Ritchie Martinez
Team Azuki also won Showcase 2nd Place
Team Azuki won $5,000 as Finalist in the CSU Startup Launch Competition!
AND they won $6,000 for 2nd Place in two showcase categories! They won a total of $31,000!
Vael won 3rd Place in two Showcases
Garrett Gillett, Sac State MBA student and founder of Vael, an estate settlement software solution for the digital age, won 3rd place in two of the showcase categories, earning $2,000!
