Get ready for an exciting leap into college life! New Student Orientation is here to help first-year students transition smoothly from high school to their new adventure at Sac State. Our structured program is packed with essential resources, including academic advising, student support services, and fantastic opportunities to get involved on campus.
But that’s not all! Orientation is also a fantastic chance for you to connect with fellow new students, making those all-important friendships from day one.
And we haven’t forgotten about parents and supporters! We offer a special program just for them, where they can learn about first-year student success, major and graduation requirements, and the many support services we provide to help students thrive.

First Year Orientation is a full-day program filled with fun and learning! You’ll get to enjoy sessions designed just for students, as well as some that you can attend alongside your parents and supporters. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, share experiences, and kick off your college journey together! We can’t wait to see you there!

Parent and Supporter Schedule
First Year Orientation is a full-day program specifically designed to assist new students in their transition to college life. Additionally, some sessions will include both students and their parents/supporters. This collaborative format fosters open discussions about important topics, such as navigating college life, understanding support services, and promoting student success. A detailed schedule of the day’s events will be provided closer to the orientation date, ensuring that everyone knows what to expect.

La Orientación de Estudiante de Primer Año es un programa de día completo diseñado específicamente para ayudar a los nuevos estudiantes en su transición a la vida universitaria. Además, algunas sesiones incluirán tanto a los estudiantes como a sus padres y acompañantes. Este formato colaborativo fomenta discusiones abiertas sobre temas importantes, como cómo navegar la vida universitaria, entender los servicios de apoyo y promover el éxito estudiantil.
