MPP 101

MPP 101 is a training program designed to empower employees in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) to effectively manage employees at Sac State. Sessions cover the manager's role in the employee lifecycle -- from onboarding a new hire, through the foundations of managing and evaluating the performance of those they lead. The content has a compliance focus and builds on the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to effectively manage in the unionized environment at Sac State.

Modules

The MPP 101 curriculum is scaffolded and intended to build on itself. All modules need to be completed as part of the mandatory training requirement. Use CSU Learn to check completion status of individual modules.

Required Training for MPPs

MPP 101 is a mandatory series which all state-side MPPs must complete within two years of being hired as an MPP at Sac State. MPP 101 is offered as a hybrid training program -- most modules are facilitated in-person or live virtually, and two modules are offered on-demand as e-learning in CSU Learn. To enable MPPs to complete the entire program, MPP 101 is offered three times per year.

Tracking Attendance and Completion

Upon hire or promotion, MPPs are assigned the MPP 101 training series in CSU Learn. This assigns the training requirement to MPPs and provides a way to track completion -- however, it does not enroll the MPP into the modules themselves. MPPs register for each module using the links embedded in the module descriptions above. Learn how to check the status of MPP 101 module and training requirement completion.

Accessibility

The Office of Human Resources seeks to ensure that our events are inclusive and that all attendees are able to fully participate. Planned accommodations for virtual MPP 101 modules include the utilization of Zoom's AI to provide voice-to-text captioning. Employees requiring a reasonable accommodation to participate in any workshop or program should email their request to learn-dev@csus.edu no later than five (5) business days prior to the event.

Registration

Registration for each module is done separately. Please use the registration links embedded in each of the module descriptions above to enroll.
