Planning & Teaching During Disruption

Pre-disruption Planning

  • Send your students an email that includes your contact information. Suggest they hold on to the message until the end of the course in case they need to get in contact with you.
  • Remind students to download or print a copy of the syllabus.
  • Back up copies of any prepared teaching materials on your desktop or laptop computer in case you're not able to access the files on cloud-based storage systems.
  • Make sure your students are familiar with tools (such as Zoom) that you may use in case you can’t meet with them in person.

Remote Work Preparedness

Teaching During Disruption

In the event that normal operation of the campus is disrupted for any number of reasons, your ability to keep teaching in the manner that you’ve planned could be impacted. Although this advice won't work for all classes, this page offers some options to help you deal with such situations. Please contact the Center for Teaching and Learning or servicedesk@csus.edu for help and additional resources.
