Graduation Advising
The Graduation & Degree Advising Office reviews the courses you have completed and determines the official status of your progress toward graduation.
If you applied to graduate and have questions, you may email your Degree Advisor.

Eligibility to Graduate
Total Units
A minimum of 120 units earned is required to graduate. No more than 70 transferable units taken at a community college or other two-year college may be applied to this total, excluding military credit and credit by examination, which are not included in this limit.
General Education requirements and approved General Education courses may be found in the Sacramento State Catalog.
Upper Division Units
A minimum of 39 upper-division units is required to graduate. Sacramento State upper-division courses are numbered 100-199.
If you have not been enrolled for the past two semesters you can submit a request for a Degree Review.
Apply to Graduate
The graduation application is available to all students who are eligible to apply for graduation.
Look for the Apply for Graduation (New) link located in your Student Center Academics tab.

Graduation Priority Filing Timelines
Fall: February 1 | Spring/Summer: October 1
Diplomas Information
You will receive your diploma 4 to 6 months after graduation to the address on file.
Verifying Degree Completion
Outside Agencies, Employers, background screening firms, and other outside agencies may verify Sacramento State degrees awarded by contacting the National Student Clearinghouse at (703) 742-4200.
