Sac State honors top students with President's Medal and Dean's Award from each college

Students honored with the annual Dean's Awards from each of Sacramento State's seven academic colleges represent the best of the University. They are scholars who excel not only in the classroom but beyond it, making a difference on campus, with their families, throughout their communities, and beyond.
Award recipients, considered the University's top graduates, were selected for their honors by professors and administrators, who assessed their academic and social contributions.
The President's Medal is awarded to one of the seven Dean's Award winners, presented annually by President Robert S. Nelsen.
This year’s winners have excelled academically and in the face of unprecedented life challenges in a world still dealing with a tenacious pandemic. With resilience and determination, they reached the finish line.

- A&L: Drawing helped Scott Azevedo overcome a difficult childhood and adult setbacks to earn his college degree
- Business: Emily Gonsalves credits Sac State for helping her achieve personal, educational triumphs
- President’s Medal/ECS: Mohammad Rawi Dawoodzada’s dreams followed him from Afghanistan and were realized at Sac State
