How to Translate Our Website into Your Language

Need Help Translating This Webpage?

We understand the importance of being able to access information in your preferred language or having the ability to share information with loved ones who may not speak English as their first language.

Follow these simple guides and video tutorials to learn how to translate any Sacramento State page using Google Translate into Spanish (or another language). View the instructions and videos below by selecting your preferred web browser.

Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome on your computer or mobile device.
    1. Navigate to the page you want to translate.
  2. Automatic Translation (if prompted):
    1. Google Chrome may detect that the webpage is in English and offer to translate it into your default browser language (which could be Spanish if it's set that way).
    2. Look for a prompt at the top of the page asking if you want to translate it. If prompted, click on "Translate" or "Translate this page".
  3. Manual Translation: If automatic translation does not occur or you want to manually control the translation:
    1. Click on the three vertical dots in the top-right of the page to bring up a menu
    2. From the menu, select "Translate".
    3. Then select Spanish (or the language you prefer) from the context menu.
    4. You may also be prompted with a pop-up. If you select the three dots on this pop-up, you can select "Choose another language".
    5. Chrome will then translate the entire webpage.

Safari

  1. Open Safari on your computer or mobile device.
    1. Navigate to the webpage you want to translate.
  2. Navigate to the top bar of the browser and select View. From the dropdown options, select Translation, then preferred language.
  3. Choose the language you'd like to translate the page into.

Alternatively, if the webpage can be translated, the Smart Search field will display the Translate button (two chat bubbles. Select this and set your language of choice to translate.

FireFox

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox on your computer or mobile device.
    1. Navigate to the page you want to translate.
  2. Select the three bars in the upper right hand corner of the browser
  3. Select "Translate page"
  4. Select your preferred language and then hit the "Translate" button to translate the entire page.

Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge on your computer or mobile device.
    1. Navigate to the page you want to translate.
  2. Translate the page:
    1. Right-click anywhere on the page
    2. Select “Translate to [Your Language]” from the context menu.
    3. If the translation bar doesn’t appear, you can click on the Translate icon in the address bar and select your language.
  3. Choose your language:
    1. Click on the three dots in the translation bar and select “Choose another language”.
    2. Pick your desired language from the list.
