It is with enthusiasm, honor and gratitude that I have the opportunity to serve as your 2011 President of SMDA. I feel quite positive with what I have found to be the very willing and generous support of a most remarkable staff which you have selected as your Board of Directors; we will have an exciting and informative year ahead of us.Bill Garcia, Nadine Gaul, Dr. Rene Barrios, Richard Kajihara, and Shelby Lard have all contributed much time and effort, behind the scenes, to insure a smooth functioning association and that the best possible programs are made available to you. There are others contributing their time, who are not so visible, and without whom we would not be as successful. Their efforts are no less appreciated. Behind Bill Garcia's capable leadership, the association continues to expand with the creation of the new South Placer chapter. Your membership as a Sunrise SMDA member permits you to participate and attend their meetings if you choose. My wife Jenny and I eagerly anticipate becoming acquainted with each of you during the coming year.
