geography leisure & recreation urbanism & architecture tourism & attractions business & marketing art & arts teaching & research

Hello. Thanks for stopping by. Currently, I'm a lecturer at CSUS in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies. I have a BS in Architecture from Georgia Tech, a MS in Recreation Administration from CSUS and I am working towards my PhD in Geography from UCD
My interests lie mainly in the area of tourism from cultural, design and business perspectives. My research, both professional and personal, includes art and architecture as they relate to tourism, urban planning and cultural factors associated with Western tourism-related business ventures in foreign locations, and using architecture as a motivation for tourism.

Mickey & Janet?
Apparently not anymore. Disney announced that it is removing the "Mickey's Nation 1928" (a salute of Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 album) statue from its 75 InspEARations line up of statues to honor the mouse's 75th anniversary. The statue display, which features re-creations of Mickey from such diverse inspirations as Andre Agassi, Sir Elton John, Home Depot, John Travolta, Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks and BET (Black Entertainment Television), will be at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom until April of this year; and then it will travel cross-country, eventually ending at Disneyland Resort. In 2005, the statues will tbe auctioned off by Sotheby's, with the money going to charities selected by each artist.
*For pictures of all 75 statues, visit BigFloridaCountry.com. This site also has a list of the names of each of the statues and their sponsors.
