This is a great interactive site that provides a tutorial exercise. Do the Virtual Earthquake, not the new one. Go to the bottom of the page to start Virtual Earthquake.Go through the exercise and determine the magnitude of an earthquake and the location of an epicenter. Print out your "virtual seismologist" certificate and label it as page 3 as you would any other page for a portfolio.

Page 4:
Go to the web site and Chapter 16, earthquakes. Take the multiple choice quiz and the end of chapter quiz. Note your scores for each and the date you took each.

It is recommended that you study the animations for this chapter to help understand the material in this chapter.
